I found out last night that one of my buddies had passed away. He was one in a million. I met this man when I was going out to the Sparta VFW. I use to enjoy so much sitting at the bar and talking with him. He would talk about hanging out in Coulterville back in the day. You know those way back when stories. Then he would joke about having locked his wife in the closet or how he told her he was going to work in the garden then he would head to the V. His sense of humor so reminded me of my Dad. And it was around the time when I lost my Dad that I first met Olon. I would love nothing more than walking in there and seeing him at the bar. I would head straight for him, I couldn’t wait to hear his line of bull shit that he was going to tell. What is driving me crazy now is not being able to remember the song he always wanted me to play on the jukebox. It had something about big or fat thighs or legs and I always gave him shit about having me play that. I kept asking him what are you saying by having me play this song? He would just laugh and say he likes the song. I am going to the Sparta V tonight so you can bet that I will be looking at the jukebox. And you can damn sure bet that I will be drinking with and to my friend…Olon Boston.
